Cliénta is client onboarding software for UK accountancy firms. It replaces manual onboarding, spreadsheets, and scattered compliance checks with a single magic link. Your clients complete ID verification, AML screening, e-signatures, and HMRC authorisation in one automated, branded flow. Cliénta fits into your existing workflow and integrates with tools like Xero, FreeAgent, and leading AML providers so you can onboard clients faster and stay compliant.

Create a client in your dashboard to generate a secure magic link. Your client enters a branded, mobile friendly onboarding site with your brand colours, logo, and subdomain (https://yourfirmname.clienta.co.uk). As its a secure link they don't need to register an account so they can start the process without yet another login. The process guides your clients through a step-by-step process - saving progress automatically so they can return at any time. In your dashboard you can see the progress of each client, assign them to your team to manage, and set up automatic nudges to remind them to complete their onboarding.

Clients simply enter their Companies House number. Cliénta automatically retrieves company details, directors, and Persons with Significant Control, and uses this to pre-populate the onboarding forms. This removes manual data entry, reduces errors, and eliminates duplicated work for your team.

Cliénta integrates with leading AML providers and runs sanctions screening against UK and UN lists. Risk ratings, identity verification, PEP declarations, and Enhanced Due Diligence responses are automatically recorded. Every onboarding produces a complete MLRO compliance record ready for internal review or regulatory inspection.

When the partner signs off a new client, Cliénta auto-syncs them into your accounting software - FreeAgent, Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks Online - with no re-keying. Engagement letters go through the firm's existing DocuSign, PandaDoc, or Socket account. AML runs through the firm's existing provider. Cliénta orchestrates the tools you already pay for so onboarding becomes one branded flow, not five disconnected ones.

Your client receives a "magic link" - a secure link to their onboarding process so there are no logins needed. Their link takes them through to your branded onboarding site (eg https://yourfirmname.clienta.co.uk) with your logo, your brand colours, and your font so it all feels familiiar to them.

Next, clients add details of their old accountants, along with their tax details


Clients only need to enter their Companies House name or number. Clienta automatically retrieves all their company details, directors, and Persons with Significant Control, and uses this to pre-populate the onboarding forms. This removes manual data entry, reduces errors, and eliminates duplicated work for your team.


Anti-money laundering checks happen next, and the client will use your preferred AML provider that you have chosen in your admin panel. This automatically uses your tokens from your chosen provider to run the checks.


We securely take clients through the 64-8 HMRC authorisation process for VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax. The client really is onboarding themselves!


Once you are happy with all the client information received, you can chose to pass it onto your internal sign off point (often a partner or director) to review and approve the onboarding. Once signed off the client will receive an email to ask them to complete the final part of the process, to Authorise you to work on their behalf with HMRC with the digital 64-8 form that we have also integrated into Clienta.

Yes. Clients can stop at any point and return using the same magic link. Their progress is saved automatically at each step. You can also re-send the link to a client at any time from their profile if they've lost it.
Yes. Cliénta supports onboarding for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and LLPs. The onboarding flow adapts automatically based on the client type selected. For limited companies, we automatically pull information from Companies House to pre-fill certain fields.
Cliénta integrates with Xama, SmartSearch, Veriphy, Firmcheck, and Veriff. You can select and configure your preferred provider under Integrations → AML Provider. Only one provider can be active at a time, and clients will be directed to that provider’s verification flow during onboarding.
The risk rating considers several factors: the client's country of residence and trading, the nature of their business, any PEP (Politically Exposed Person) declarations, sanctions screening results, and the source of funds. Low risk clients may require standard CDD; Medium and High risk clients may trigger Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) report is a PDF summarising a client’s full compliance picture: risk rating, CDD status, sanctions screening results, EDD (if applicable), periodic review history, and Beneficial Owner (UBO) records. You can download it at any time from a client’s profile. It’s designed to support your regulatory audit trail.

Clients see a clean, branded portal with your firm’s logo and colours. They’re guided step-by-step through the onboarding process with clear instructions at each stage. The portal works on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Clients never need to create an account — they access everything via their unique magic link.
Go to Admin Settings → Branding & Company. You can upload your firm’s logo (shown in the client portal and on reports), set your primary brand colour, and update your firm’s contact details. Changes take effect immediately across all client-facing pages.

Cliénta orchestrates rather than replaces. We integrate with five leading AML providers (Xama, SmartSearch, Veriphy, Firmcheck, and Veriff) and run them inside the onboarding flow. No. Engagement letters are sent through your existing e-signature tool (DocuSign, PandaDoc, or Socket) inside the Cliénta flow. Cliénta orchestrates the LOE step but does not produce the letter itself. We do natively generate clearance letters (incoming-accountant standard letter) and disengagement letters when you offboard a client.
